Innovative Data Protection Framework for Virtual Machines

The vStorage APIs for Data Protection (vADP) is the next generation of VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) data protection framework which further streamlines and simplifies backup and recovery of virtual machines.

With the release of vADP in vSphere 4, storage vendors are able to integrate their solutions with VMware to provide advanced capabilities to customers:

A new horizon for data protection is now available with this framework and the vADP-enabled solutions such as the HP StorageWorks D2D Backup Systems and Symantec Backup Exec 2010.
